Who this covers

This policy covers proacttechnik.ca and the two forms on it. Proact Technik is the organisation responsible for the information described here. If you want anything below actioned, email proacttechnik@gmail.com.

What you give us

Only what you type into a form. Nothing on this site requires an account, and we don't ask for payment details anywhere.

The contact form collects three things:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your message

The consultation questionnaire collects more, because it's there to prepare for a conversation. Depending on which need you pick, that can include:

• Your name, business name, email address and phone number
• How and when you'd prefer to be contacted
• A description of the problem you're trying to solve, and what a good outcome looks like
• Answers about your website, the systems and tools you run, where manual work piles up, and roughly how many hours it takes
• Your timeline, who would support the work day to day, and an optional budget range

The budget range and several other fields are marked optional and can be left blank. Please don't put anything confidential in the free-text boxes; a form is the wrong place for it, and we'd rather discuss it on the call.

What gets collected automatically

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get read. It records things like the pages you view, roughly where you are, your browser and device, and how you arrived. We've turned on Google Signals, which lets Google report on visits across your devices and by broad age/gender/interest category when you're signed into a Google account; we only ever see this as aggregated, anonymous reporting, never as your name or account details. We've also turned on Google Analytics' User-ID reporting; since this site has no accounts to log into, that relies on the same Google-assigned, cross-device identifiers Signals already provides, not on any ID we create or assign ourselves. We don't use any of it to identify you personally.
• Form field detection. Our contact and questionnaire forms ask for your email address and phone number. Google Analytics automatically detects those as you type them and sends Google a one-way, unreadable hash of them (not the text itself) to help it measure and match ad performance. Google only ever receives that hash; the message and contact details themselves still come to us directly, as described above.
• Server logs. Our hosting records standard request information, including IP address, for security and diagnostics.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. The only thing it stores in your browser is a single preference: whether you've chosen light or dark mode, so the site remembers your choice on your next visit. It isn't used to identify or track you, and nothing else is stored locally.

Google Analytics does set cookies to tell repeat visits apart, and with Google Signals turned on it may also draw on the advertising cookies of a visitor signed into their Google account to power the cross-device reporting described above. You can turn this off for your own account any time in Google's Ad Settings, block cookies in your browser settings, use private browsing, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking them doesn't affect anything on this site.

We don't run our own advertising or retargeting pixels, and there are no social media trackers on any page.

What we do with it

Enquiry details are used to reply to you, prepare for the free consultation, and put together a proposal. Analytics is used to understand which pages are worth improving. That's the whole list.

We do not sell your information, rent it, or share it for anyone else's marketing. We won't add you to a mailing list off the back of an enquiry.

By sending a form you're consenting to us using your details to respond. You can withdraw that at any time by emailing us, and we'll stop and delete what we hold, subject to anything we're required to keep.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you
• Correct anything that's wrong
• Delete it
• Withdraw your consent to us using it

Email proacttechnik@gmail.com with any concerns or data requests. If you're not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version goes up on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will be described rather than slipped in quietly.
